This website is run by Janice Sommerville ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us about privacy at janice@janicesommerville.com.

We only collect what we need to give you our free tools and to run this website.

• Your email address, so we can give you access to a free tool and recognise you when you come back. We accept any email address.
• Your company name, only if you choose to give it.
• Which tools you open, and when, so we know which tools are useful. Opening the same tool again within an hour counts once.
• Your marketing choice: whether you ticked the marketing box, the exact wording you saw, and when. This lets us prove what you agreed to, or that you said no.
• A scrambled version of your network (IP) address, used only to stop people flooding the sign-up form. We scramble it one way and never store the address itself.
• Counts from each payroll check: how many rows and findings, whether it was complete, and how long it took. Never the payroll's contents.

Under UK and EU data protection law, we rely on our legitimate interests in providing the tools you ask for, understanding how they are used and keeping the site secure. We rely on your consent for marketing emails.

Your payroll is checked in your browser and never sent to us or kept. We keep only your email, any company name you give, your marketing choice, which tools you opened, and counts from each check (never payroll contents).

No payroll account. Your payroll file and every worker's details stay in your browser and are never sent to us. We keep your email and basic usage information: when you ran a check, how long it took, how many rows it covered, how many findings of each kind it returned, and whether all checks within the selected scope could be completed.

Using a tool never signs you up for marketing. The marketing box is optional and starts unticked. It reads: "Yes, email me occasionally about new free tools and guides for my industry. I can unsubscribe at any time."

If you tick it, we will ask you to confirm by email before we send you any marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time. Once you unsubscribe, signing up for another tool or replying to us will not sign you back up.

We use one cookie of our own. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

• gate_ok remembers that you have already given your email, so our free tools open without asking again, and lets us record which tools you open. It lasts one year. It holds a random reference number and a signature that only our server can check; it does not contain your email address.

We do not sell your information. These companies handle it on our behalf:

• Supabase stores our database, in the United States (us-east-1).
• Vercel hosts this website, in the United States.
• Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (GPT) provide the AI assistants that help us run the business. They may read and update our records of the people who use our tools.

Your information is stored in the United States. If you are in the UK or EU, we protect transfers using our providers' Standard Contractual Clauses (Supabase and Vercel).

We delete your information after 24 months with no activity. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will do so within 30 days.

UK and EU: you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, ask us to limit or stop using it, ask for a copy to take elsewhere, and withdraw your marketing consent at any time. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or your local data protection authority.

United States: you can ask to see or delete your information. Every marketing email we send will include a way to unsubscribe.

Our tools are for businesses. They are not intended for children.
